BEMÆRK: Ansøgningsfristen er overskredet
We are offering a PhD fellowship commencing September 1st 2023 or soon thereafter.
Our group and research
We (Gasbjerg Group) are a recently established research group that focuses on the translational field of gastrointestinal hormones and their therapeutic implications. We conduct clinical studies at collaborating facilities and animal and in vitro pharmacological studies at the University of Copenhagen (Panum Institute, Blegdamsvej 3B, 2200 Copenhagen).
Project description
The current PhD project consists of two clinical studies of patient groups with impaired regulation of the postprandial gastrointestinal blood flow supported by more mechanistic, physiological animal studies. For the clinical studies, the PhD student will be using functional MRI (fMRI) to investigate blood flow in selected gastrointestinal vessels. For the animal studies, mechanistic investigations of blood flow regulations will be studied in pigs and rodents measuring blood flow ultrasonographically. All studies will be done in close collaboration with another PhD student (medical doctor with clinical responsibility of the human studies).
